From my new book!

386861_10151147954514328_1637501940_nI had a dream that I and others were building a structure. It looked like a large warehouse structure or a hangar of some kind. It covered an immense stretch of ground. It had huge walls – maybe seven stories high – and a curved roof full of glass panels to let in the light that arched across from one side to the other. At both ends were gigantic rolling doors that opened the structure completely to the outside, when it was needed.

The thing that we were concerned with in the dream was building the shell of the structure bigger than we needed it, because we knew that we would quickly grow past its capacity. Working as a team, our job was to oversee the building of the shell with an eye to what we would immediately use and what we would use as we grew. The building was already laid out and well on its way to completion, but we were charged with developing the purposes of the whole, as well as the individual spaces we were designing, to work well through multiple time frames of growth.

That morning as I got up, I found myself praying over the foundations of the House of Prayer as they were being built. I began calling forth of the priesthood for the big job ahead of us, and ended up crying out to God for the establishment of the House of Prayer and the priesthood together. It was a pivotal prayer time for me, spurred by a prophetic dream. The meaning of the dream was only dim to me at the time, but God has brought more revelation over time.

In the dream I was overseeing the building of a structure. I was working with a team who had different roles in the design and construction of this huge building. There were many more people throughout the construction site doing jobs that were specialized to the part they were working on. Now I know that I’m describing any real construction site and the way it operates; but there is spiritual application here. The Spiritual application here seems to be lost on much of the Church.

Here in this dream there were represented multiple gifts and talents; gifted men and women called to work together for the establishment, training and equipping of teams of men and women. These teams would work in specific skill areas, and oversee teams of their own who then have the responsibility to carry on specific areas of the work of construction being done. I was part of that establishment, or equipping team who were charged with the overseeing of the project – that the project would be built according to plan. The work of overseeing is not entrusted to just one man. The work of overseeing is entrusted to a team of people who are gifted or skilled in complimentary areas, who then each oversee teams of leaders, who then oversee teams of teams – all working together to get the job done by the tens, hundreds and thousands.
