A Word For Thailand: The Coronation of the King!

20150109_101304As I settled down with a cup of coffee before the Lord this morning I heard a directive in my spirit: “Psalm 72″…

I looked up the psalm in my Bible and was met immediately with a Word from God, which I knew at the outset was a specific word for the nation of Thailand.

“Psalm 72

“1 Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.”

I knew right away that this reading of Psalm 72 this morning was about the son of the King of Thailand. I looked in the study notes and found that this psalm is a prayer of David for the coronation of his son, King Solomon. This psalm historically is about David’s son Solomon’s succession to the throne; this word from the psalm today is about God’s heart for the son of the King of Thailand and his succession to the throne.

“2 May he judge your people in righteousness,
your afflicted ones with justice.”

I found myself praying for the Crown Prince of Thailand, and for the people of Thailand. Pray with me:

“3 May the mountains bring prosperity to the people (of Thailand),
the hills the fruit of righteousness.
May he (the soon-to-be King of Thailand) defend the afflicted among the people
and save the children of the needy;
may he crush the oppressor.”

You may not know that the long standing King of Thailand died last week. He reigned for 7 decades, and was tremendously loved by his people. At the same time Thailand has become the undisputed center of sex trafficking in the world. I have prayed so many times over the years for Thailand; for the young women, men and children caught in the snare of the sex trade. I have also prayed for the king, that he would do something about it. Yet the sex trade has remained a pillar of the economy in Thailand, even as the king promoted development and more positive economic opportunity for his people throughout the country.

Even now we pray, God, that You will defend the afflicted among the people in Thailand who feel that they have no other choice but to turn to the sex trade. We pray that God would save the children of the needy so that they will not be subjected. We pray that God will crush this oppressive trade in Thailand, put the oppressors out of business, and end the predatory practices among all who are buying the flesh of the oppressed.

We pray for the Crown Prince of Thailand:
“5 May he endure as long as the sun,
as long as the moon, through all generations.
May he be like rain falling on a mown field,
like showers watering the earth.
In his days may the righteous flourish
and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.”

We pray, God, that you would move on the Crown Prince to take a stand for righteousness, so that You can prosper the people and the land in justice!

This word today is not about Thailand’s historic failings, it is startlingly positive and hopeful for the next king and for the nation!

“8 May he rule from sea to sea
and from the River to the ends of the earth.”

Wow! Isn’t this amazingly and directly applicable to Thailand?

We pray, God, for the Crown Prince that he will take up his rule, and that it will be blessed, and that the whole country will be blessed along with him. God, Make him a righteous ruler who will bring justice to the people and the land!

“9 May the desert tribes bow before him
and his enemies lick the dust.
10 May the kings of Tarshish and of distant shores
bring tribute to him.
May the kings of Sheba and Seba
present him gifts.
11 May all kings bow down to him
and all nations serve him.”

It is here that I began to see two images in my prayer. I saw the Crown Prince of Thailand who I was praying for, but coming into focus behind him I could see Jesus, enthroned as King of all Kings! I saw that my prayer and proclamation of this scripture was about the Crown Prince, but was increasingly about The King of Kings taking up His throne! I have a sense that the next king of Thailand may well be the last until Jesus returns. Please pray for the heart of the King of Thailand… that he will become a follower of Christ, and lead his people into righteousness, peace and justice:

“12 For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
the afflicted who have no one to help.
13 He will take pity on the weak and the needy
and save the needy from death.
14 He will rescue them from oppression and violence,
for precious is their blood in his sight.”

Yes, God! May the next King of Thailand be a King who will hear and respond to the voices of the needy, who will hear and end their oppression. God is setting this as a call and a challenge to the next King of Thailand, because God is looking right now throughout the earth for nations who will respond to Him! He is looking for leaders, cities, regions and nations who will follow His ways so that He can bless the people and the land. God is looking for places that He can partner with to make into cities of refuge. These places will be lands of Goshen — places of light when everywhere else is suffering darkness. God wants to raise up sheepfold nations that He can bless with protection and prosperity when all around is being brought down. God wants to begin to establish His Zion of the Nations among people who will be committed to Him.

“15 Long may he live!
May gold from Sheba be given him.
May people ever pray for him
and bless him all day long.
16 May grain abound throughout the land;
on the tops of the hills may it sway.
May the crops flourish like Lebanon
and thrive like the grass of the field.
17 May his name endure forever;
may it continue as long as the sun.”

I have prayed for Thailand for ten years now, and I feel that God is giving Thailand a choice to follow Him alone, not a globalist agenda. Thailand is in a unique position to push forward independently among the nations of the world for peace, justice and prosperity.

Pray for Thailand! Pray for the Crown Prince of Thailand! Pray for the next King of Thailand, that He will respond to God’s invitation, stand up for righteousness, and establish justice for his people and his land!

“Then all nations will be blessed through him,
and they will call him blessed.

“18 Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,
who alone does marvelous deeds.
19 Praise be to his glorious name forever;
may the whole earth be filled with his glory.
Amen and Amen.”

Pray for God’s blessings upon Thailand in this time of grief for the loss of their long-time beloved king. But I believe that this is an invitation to pray for prosperity, righteousness and justice in Thailand.

Pray that they will turn to God and that God will pour out His blessings. Pray for the hearts of the people. Pray that salvation will become a national phenomenon! Pray for righteousness to become the gold standard in Thailand. Pray that justice will be decreed, and that those oppressed will be set free. Pray God’s blessings on the king, the people and the land!

God, pour out Your Spirit in Thailand!  May Thailand be filled with Your Glory! Amen and Amen!
