Fiji Project Update

In January Dionne and I were invited to Fiji to meet Pastors, Tribal Elders, Chiefs and a government official as we looked at properties and shared about the House of Prayer Centers. That was a wonderful and exhausting trip, taking us all the way around the main island of Viti Levu in five days. But the Lord is good! The response of the people of Fiji was amazing — they all wanted to bring the House of Prayer to their land and their people.

Then, by the end of February, I was called to go back — the Prime Minister’s office had been apprised of the plan, and wanted to meet me to talk about it. I have to admit I was a little nervous, but my friends in Fiji assured me that this kind of face-to-face meeting is how things are done in this part of the world.

I arrived in Fiji and met the Land Consultant that had been working with the tribal trust on the acquisition and use of the beach front property near Nadi. He was so excited to hear about the full plan, that he agreed to take on the acquisition of the mountain property as well, AND help with the rest of the paperwork and registrations we will need until the centers are up and running. Now he’s the Project Consultant helping us with the rest of the official requirements that we will need in Fiji. Praise God! … and his name is Wise Rarawa! A “Wise” man is helping us to build God’s House upon the Rock!

As the Fiji Establishment Team prayed together those first couple of days before we went to the capitol to meet with the officials of the Prime Minister’s office, the Lord just kept reiterating: “All of The Doors will be open to you…” Well, we didn’t quite grasp how open the doors would be, until we came into the meeting!

In the series of meetings with government officials they praised the plan as the “wave of the future”. They told me that they were dissatisfied with the big corporate investments that had come in, and had discussed the need for a more “holistic” kind of investment plan that would address more needs on various levels: serving people with recreation, but also sensitive to ecological concerns, local economic needs, education, and spiritual needs. They said, “Then your plan showed up!” The Minister of Lands said it was just the kind of plan that they want to actively promote all over Fiji. They asked me what land I wanted, and how much… My whole team was blown away!

So — the prayers that have been lifted up for the project have been more effective than we could have asked or imagined. God didn’t merely open the doors, He blew them off their hinges! The doors to the project in Fiji are so open, and in such an unprecedented way!

Because of this we have been backing up their favor and good faith with action…

We have registered the international business entity in British Columbia, Canada. We’ve also registered as a business in Fiji. I’ve re-written the Project Prospectus with a focus on the properties in Fiji, and re-worked the numbers.

God has sent a Christian lawyer our way who has a new firm established in Suva, the Fijian capitol, and she has begun to set up the land trust for the mountain tribe we’ll be working with. Also, our business consultant in Canada has been continuing to work out the detailed questions involved in building out the international investment entity there.

Please Pray

Please pray that we will be able to build out the business entities quickly and well: both the local partnership and the international corporation. I have registered the international corporation, but it needs a lot of work. Pray for the formation of the local entity in Fiji, that it will be formed quickly, smoothly and well. Pray for Wise as he pushes forward with the registration of the million and one things we need to set up in Fiji. We need uncommon wisdom to build the corporate structures free from the strings of the world’s systems, and free from the pitfalls of the enemy’s plans. Please help us structure the whole thing in prayer — that God’s Kingdom will be reflected in every part of it.

The land in question on Mount Tomanivi has still not been returned to native ownership from the colonial days. Proclaim God’s Jubilee over the land and the people! This is more important than I can begin to tell.

Pray for the initial investment to come in. I am being advised by the business consultant working with us from Canada that we need an initial “Angel Investment” of between ten and twenty thousand dollars to finish out the international entity and “get the ball rolling” to bring in investment. One of the team has come forward with a good chunk of this, and Dionne and I have already invested another good chunk in set-up fees, business registrations, travel, etc. Even so, please pray that God will connect us now with the right person who will want to invest: someone with a like mind and heart for the plan.

The warfare, moreover, has been intense. Dionne has had a flu for a month or so now, and has had to keep working through it. She’s had a tough time. Also, after twelve-plus years healed from kidney stones, I’ve been pushing through the terrible pain and passing a series of stones. Further, another of the core team has fallen seriously ill — but has asked us not to share details.  It’s all simply the enemy of our souls; he’s fighting hard, and doesn’t want this project to come to reality.

We need your Prayers!

  • Pray that the rest of the initial investment will come in. The team has been able to raise a large amount, but we still need more to reach our current goal of finishing out the investment entity in Canada.
  • Pray that God will continue to set everything into place… for His Glory!
  • Pray through the warfare that has come against us. Pray God’s protection over this project, and over every member of the team.

God has been reminding me that the enemy cannot take what is His — so stand on God’s word for us and this plan: we are His possession, and so is this plan! He’s also been saying to remember that we do our warfare from VICTORY! Stand in Christ’s victory for the Ring of Fire project in Fiji, and the Ring of Fire team.

Lastly, please remember to pray for Fiji. It is a dear nation close to God’s heart — but it is small and poor, and beset by poverty, natural disasters and political difficulties that keep holding the people back. Please Pray!

If you will, thank you for standing with us in prayer for this, God’s plan. The online business proposal can be accessed here. My heart is straining forward in joy — we are so close to finally being able to begin! May God bless you richly and abundantly; May God fulfill all of His promises to all of us as we move forward together in the advancement of His Kingdom on Earth… right now in Fiji!
