The River is Flowing From the Throne of God!

Note: This is a word excerpted from the first chapter of the book I’m writing right now, “The Seven Spirits of God“.

One of the first visions God gave to me, I saw when I was just 14 years old. In the vision I was lying on a cloud looking down at the surface of the Earth. From my high vantage point I could see the globe stretched out below me. It was a beautiful sight: I could see the outlines of continents, I could see mountains, stretches of open grassland and bands of forested hills, and I could see the shining blue oceans reaching out beyond the land. As I marveled at the breathtaking spectacle, I became aware of a new sound all around me, as of the rushing of a waterfall. I looked up and saw that a cataract had opened out of heaven and was flowing onto the clouds close by. I could see the throne of God through what seemed like a gate in heaven above me, and I could see a river of what looked like crystal clear water flowing from the throne of God, out through the gate, and cascading down onto the clouds nearby.

I watched as the crystal clear water pooled and began to flow across the surface of the clouds. As the crystal clear water reached the edge of the group of clouds, it began to pour, first like a thin stream, and then like a rushing flood, down from the cloud’s edge to the earth below. But as it began to pool and gather on the continent below, I could see that it looked like a pool of shining gold. I looked and saw that it flowed from the cloud as a fall of gold, and that liquid gold poured out upon the land as a flood of pure, shining gold that spread and began to flow in rivers across the surface of the continent.

As the liquid gold flowed in multiple rivers across the continent, I could see the edges of the continents shift and gap slightly as the tectonic plates rode and chafed against each other on the surface of the subterranean tide. The streams of liquid gold began to disappear as they flowed into these gaps between the continents, but I could see the flow between the cracks as it flowed like fire under the continents of the world. Soon I could see the flow of fire covering the whole Earth as it coursed between and beneath the surging plates around the globe.

This vision, given in 1974, was telling me about the time we are living in now. It has taken this long for me to understand it, and it is for today. I believe that God has been pouring out His presence and His Glory in this past season, and it has been like a river from the very throne of God. It has poured out like clear water for the thirsty, and we have been refreshed as we have come up to the place of this heavenly outpouring, and come to the river to drink. Some of us have even had the privilege of being a part of this outpouring, as we have been filled, and then filled our cups, buckets and hats to bring some of the water back to pour out for others. Many have been touched by this refreshing and cleansing heavenly flood.

But soon the same river of God will overflow its heavenly courses and begin to pour out closer to home. It will pour out on a continent, or a few continents, and begin to flow across them. But this time it will not look the same. It will pour down as a river of gold: a river of authority and power. This river of gold will be ordained in yieldedness to God, in holiness to Him, and it will flow in His ordained order.

This means that the coming move of God will bring with it the blessing and the mandate of knowing God’s ordained order, of walking in holiness before Him, and it will bring with it a mantle of yieldedness to God and His ways that we have not seen or imagined in this era. Accompanying these will be an authority that we have not known to this point, and an increase in the power to accomplish all that this new level of authority is sent to accomplish. In this new season there will be an increase in power to do signs and miracles. The sick will be healed, the deaf will hear, the lame will walk, and the dead will be raised, just like Jesus told us, but we will walk in more authority and more power than we have seen so far to do it. God’s ways will be re-discovered by millions in the church, they will be lived out in yieldedness and holiness, and more authority will be bestowed on us because of it. More Christians around the world will begin living out God’s ordained structures, ordained from before the beginning of the world, and they will enjoy an increase of authority and power to do the works of God, and to establish His Kingdom. I feel that God has given me the message contained here in this book as part of this outpouring. I pray that I can write it well enough.

But that is not the end of the vision. The vision goes on to show one more outpouring of the river of God. This third phase will be like fire flowing all around the world, touching every continent, every island, every nation and every tribe. I believe that this is the final outpouring that is foretold in Joel and the rest of the prophets. This is the final outpouring that Jesus told us about, and that we’ve been waiting for. It will be poured out in these last days, and it will be like a baptism of fire – and all the world will be touched by it.

    Scott,
Your visions are very interesting, thanks for sharing with us. The book should make an interesting read; continue the good work of carrying out the Great Commission on that side of the world. This gospel must be preached in all the word as a witness, then the end will come.
